NOrCa at Interno Verde 2024

On 10 September 2024, on the occasion of the annual edition of Interno Verde - the festival that exceptionally opens Ferrara's secret gardens to the public - the NOrCa - Not Ordinary Cannabis project participated in the initiative at the Technopole of Ferrara, together with researchers from the University of Ferrara.

During the day, the project's objectives and first results were presented, focusing on the sustainable valorisation of Cannabis sativa L. waste and its potential in the context of the circular bioeconomy. Visitors learned first-hand about green extraction methodologies, research on bioactive compounds, and possible applications in the nutraceutical, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical fields.

The initiative represented a valuable opportunity for scientific dissemination, bringing the public closer to applied research and sustainable innovation.

NOrCa at the European Researchers’ Night in Ferrara

On September 26, 2025, from 6 p.m. to midnight, in Piazza Castello in Ferrara, on the occasion of the annual European Researchers’ Night – an event promoted by the European Commission within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, aimed at highlighting the role of research in society and fostering research careers in Europe – the NOrCa project (Not Ordinary Cannabis) took part in the initiative together with researchers from the University of Ferrara.

The project was included in the event (Hidden Treasures: when supply chain by-products become a source of well-being and sustainability) and showcased through a dedicated exhibition space hosted by the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, where some results and insights on hemp were presented.

This initiative represented yet another valuable opportunity for science outreach, bringing the public closer to the world of applied research and sustainable innovation.
